Newham Foodbank was established in 2010 by Babatunde and others, and he remains the Chair of the Board of Trustees. The Foodbank became independent in 2021, and it seeks to eradicate food deprivation and ensure poverty alleviation. It is partnered by such institutions as Tesco, Waitrose, Asda, Credit Suisse, InvestecUnilever, and West Ham Football Club Supporters, among others.

Since inception, Newham Foodbank has fed over 12,000 people in the borough of Newham England, and its environs. The Foodbank has seven Centres across Newham where packed food is distributed every day of the week to families that are struggling with food deprivation.
